PhD position in agri-environmental policy and resource governance at MLU Halle

The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Food Policy (Prof. Dr. Insa Theesfeld) at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg announces a vacancy of a Research Associate (50%) in Agri-environmental Policy and Resource Governance, with the expected date of start 1 July 2019 for duration of 3 years, with a possible prolongation.  We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in agricultural economics, resource management, institutional economics or related fields. Tasks include research on current challenges at the intersection of agriculture and the environment. Policy and governance questions are in the focus, such as how to deal with common goods, linked resources (e.g. land-water nexus) or the role of agriculture in rural development. Institutional and behavioral economics, property-rights theory or commons theory are possible perspectives to approach a research topic. The position involves teaching (2 SWS). This is a qualification position, which aims at completing a PhD. Deadline for applications is 10 May 2019.
